Waterfall "Maiden Tears"
Right at the beginning of the journey, we will pass by a hot spring and reach the "Maiden's Tears" waterfall, where we'll take a few photos. From there, the trail becomes slightly steeper as it climbs up the gorge.

Halfway viewpoint
About halfway to Terra, we will cross a dry riverbed and are greeted with a beautiful view of the gorge and the Prokhodnaya River. In this picturesque spot, with a view of the river's upper reaches, we'll have a snack and take a good rest.

Terra Glade
Finally, we've arrived! We will admire the beauty of the mountains and take incredible photos! From the glade Terra, we have a view of Big Almaty Peak, Pila Peak, and Kargaly Peak. Right near the glade, there is an unusual spring called "Witch's Spring." Here, we'll rest, take photos, and enjoy the beauty of Terra.

If you wishe, we can take a walk to Alyoshka's Bridge, which is 15 minutes from the glade and have a tragic history.

Back to the city
The way back home will be slightly shorter, but it will still take at least 3 hours. In the evening, as you go through the photos from the hike to Terra, you will be very pleased with how you spent the day, because Terra is a very picturesque and atmospheric place, just like the entire Prokhodnoye Gorge.

Where is Terra Glade?

Terra glade is located in Prokhodnoe Gorge, which is sometimes mistakenly called Almarasan Gorge, after the former sanatorium in the lower part of the gorge.
From the parking lot near the former Alsu-Arasan sanatorium to Terra Glade is about 6 km along mountain trails that lead both upwards and across, crossing the river via bridges. The trail is clear and intuitively easy to follow. Even if some paths split, they generally converge again.
Above Terra Glade, you'll also find the "Witch's Stream" spring, Alyoshkin's Bridge , and Vysotsky glade.
From Terra, there is a beautiful view of the night city, as well as Pila Peak and Big Almaty Peak.

How difficult is the hike to Terra?

TIME: Terra is a relatively easy hike. The entire journey from the Alma-Arasan parking lot to Terra takes about 4 hours (approximately 6 km).
TERRAIN: The trail is well-defined and runs through beautiful forests and sub-alpine meadows. In some places, the path is quite steep, so it's advisable to have trekking poles and shoes with good traction.
PARTICIPANTS: The difficulty level of the hike is medium and manageable for anyone with average physical fitness. If you have never hiked in the mountains before, you might want to start with an easier route to be sure in your abilities.
